The Exchange ~ Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor

Topic: The Exchange [Wednesday February 15, 2017]

“He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labour unto the locust.” (Ps.  78:46)

There are people who work hard but have nothing to show for it. Ha! I feel strongly for such ones. Why should you run up and down, here today, there tomorrow, and have nothing to show for it? Let me give an analogy:

A boom happens, the price of cement goes up, and sensing an opportunity, a man takes out a loan of twenty-five million Naira with which he goes into cement importation. His goods arrive the port but before he clears them, a shift in government policy is announced and the price of cement tumbles down. Before he clears the goods, he is in debt, and remains in debt even after selling it. He worked hard but the profit of his labour had been exchanged somewhere. Nothing happens by chance.

The caterpillar and the locust eat up and destroy things. Increase speaks of profit. Whatever would have been his profit was given to the caterpillar to destroy. In the same vein, some people work but don’t know what they do with their salary. It was given to the locust before they even earned it. It is very painful, sad, and unacceptable.

In the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the living God, I speak into your life from God’s altar. I break the power of whatever has been reducing you. No locust will eat your hard work. You will not sweat for somebody else to eat. You will not build for someone else to inhabit and enjoy. You will not gather for someone else to scatter. I release your prosperity, increase, and reward back to you, in Jesus’ name.

WORDS OF WISDOM: During an evil exchange, caterpillars destroy the pillars.

PRAYER/CONFESSION: LORD, I take back my increase. Every lion and caterpillar sent to destroy the labour of my hands, be destroyed, in the name of Jesus.
