THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is an abomination for a lion to run away from a dog.
Due to the abundance of ignorance, the devil has continued to be a major threat to the life, wellbeing and happiness of many Christians. But from our anchor Scripture, it is not supposed to be so. The enemy is not supposed to come after you; you are the one to go after the enemy. This is how God designed it to be.
The enemy was not designed to come after you; you are designed to go after the enemy and his forces. You are designed to go after the forces of danger, death and destruction. The enemy is not a threat to you; you are the one that is a threat to the devil. You are a threat to the wicked and useless, devil. He is not anointed or empowered to be a threat to your life. You are the one who has been empowered by God to be a threat to the devil. God says, “…I give unto you power to tread…” (Luke 10:19). So, look for the devil and tread on him, instead of running and being pursued by him.

The psalmist expressed the necessity and goodness of giving thanks to God and showing forth His lovingkindness daily. God had made him glad through His works. He marvelled at the greatness of His work and at the depth of His thoughts and knowledge. He rounded off by affirming that the righteous shall flourish in the courts of God, even at old age, to show His uprightness and faithfulness.
Our God and His works are awesome. From the innumerable microscopic organisms in the air and in the soil to bigger creatures like the elephant, to the green vegetation, the rivers and the seas; to birds that fly in the open heavens, to mineral resources such as gold and diamond that are mined at depths of up to 12,000 feet in the ground; to the stars and moon above, and to man created in the image of God, the wonders of God’s creation are manifest and manifold.
And He desires that we know Him. “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight” (Jeremiah 9:23, 24).
How much delight do we have in knowing more of God and His word? Do we have a living relationship with Him? Let us draw nearer to Him so as to benefit from His great love, wisdom and power.

Our anchor Scripture showcases the importance of wisdom to life – wisdom is profitable to direct or order the business of life. It is therefore, important to understand the necessity of wisdom to successful living.
Now, there are three things to note about wisdom from Scriptures:
Wisdom is very critical for profitable, gainful, and successful living (Ecclesiastes 10:10).
Wisdom is profitable. To live a life that profits you, to live a life that is gainful, to live a life that is successful, wisdom is needed.
Wisdom is very critical for outstanding and distinguished living.
A man’s wisdom makes him outstanding; a man’s wisdom makes his face to shine.
Ecclesiastes 8:1 says, Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
Wisdom is needed to be outstanding in life. Wisdom makes your face to shine in life.
Wisdom is very critical for royal or palatial existence (Prov. 8:15).
Wisdom takes you to the palace. Concerning wisdom, Proverbs 8:15says: “By me kings reign, and princes decree justice”.
Beloved, if you must see gain and not losses; if you must stand out and not die under; if you must be in the palace and not in the bush, you need wisdom.
Remember this: …if you must be in the palace and not in the bush, you need wisdom.

Text: Esther 9:13-19 (KJV)
13 Then said Esther, If it please the king, let it be granted to the Jews which are in Shushan to do to morrow also according unto this day’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged upon the gallows.
14 And the king commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at Shushan; and they hanged Haman’s ten sons.
15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
16 But the other Jews that were in the king’s provinces gathered themselves together, and stood for their lives, and had rest from their enemies, and slew of their foes seventy and five thousand, but they laid not their hands on the prey,
17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
18 But the Jews that were at Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth day thereof, and on the fourteenth thereof; and on the fifteenth day of the same they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.

MESSAGE:
Agents of the devil always seem to press on with their deadly agenda, with the goal of exterminating the chosen of the Lord. But they fail at the end of it all.
Through the three days of fasting and prayer undertaken by Queen Esther, Mordecai and the Jews, God overturned the evil plot of Haman to destroy all the Jews in King Ahasuerus’ Empire. The Jews, through a counter decree, authorised by the king and written by Mordecai were given the right to self-defence. In our text, we see Esther making a further request of the king for Haman’s ten sons to be hanged and to give the Jews an extra day to deal with their enemies in Shushan. The requests were granted.
Many people live their lives as if there is no repercussion. “The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked” (Proverbs 3:33a). King Saul had killed the Gibeonites whom Joshua had spared and had sworn to keep alive. Saul’s seven sons were hanged as a result of his action (Joshua 9:14,15); (2 Samuel 21:6-9). Also, Jehu was instructed by God to destroy the house of Ahab for all the wickedness he had perpetrated in Israel.
The law of sowing and reaping applies to every action of men. “Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil… but glory, honour and peace to every man that worketh good…” (Romans 2:9,10). Every believer must live with eternity in view by sowing seeds of kindness, love and mercy so that his posterity might profit thereby.

She joined NIFES (Nigeria Fellowship of Evangelical Students) choir and served there until she graduated, she also had the privilege of been part of the music team of Nigeria Youth for Christ, since then by the help of God she has served in various music groups and presently serving with her church choir at Living Faith Church and also part of the newest move in the City of Port harcourt, The Colt of Diamonds which holds the monthly Voice of Worship (VOW) online worship. By God’s election she recently signed to the label of Diadem records as a Gospel Artist, and has ongoing projects yet to be out soon.
Tinuade is a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning, graciously married to Ilesanmi Adekunle and they are blessed with 3 adorable children. She currently works as Director at Diadem Multimedia International. She hails from Ogotun Ekiti, but presently resides with her family in Port Harcourt.
