Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Profit Of Seeking God Early

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 15 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Profit Of Seeking God Early

TOPIC: The Profit Of Seeking God Early (Seeds Of Destiny 15 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. Proverbs 8:17-18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Those who seek God early are privileged carriers of His Presence.

MESSAGE:

The Scripture makes it clear that it is profitable to seek God early. Our anchor scripture says that those who seek God early will find Him. That is a major profit.

Now, in addition to finding Him, we will explore those things that you stand to benefit when you seek Him early.

  1. Access to counsel, sound wisdom and understanding. To seek God early is to be positioned in counsel, sound wisdom, and understanding (Proverbs 8:14).
  2. Access to royalty, authority, and ruler-ship (Proverbs 8:15). If you can access God early, you will stand as a king; you will stand in royalty and authority.
  3. Access to supernatural strength (Proverbs 8:14). When you seek God early, you connect supernatural strength.
  4. Access to Divine Presence. Those who seek God early are privileged carriers of His Presence (Proverbs 8:17).
  5. Access to supernatural abundance and supplies (Proverbs 8:18). That is, God will show you something that will take you off the realm of poverty and scarcity. If you seek God early, you are not permitted to seek gold the way others seek gold.
  6. Access to honour and dignity (Proverbs 8:18). When you come close to God, He clothes you with honour and dignity; you cannot be a victim of shame and reproach.
  7. Access to righteousness and uprightness. You become more conscious of living through the day in His uprightness (Proverbs 8:20).

Beloved, this seven-fold package shall be your portion as you consistently seek God early.

Remember this: Those who seek God early are privileged carriers of His Presence.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Arise early in the morning and seek God; endeavour to attend the early morning service where it is available.
  2. Make demands on the seven benefits of seeking God early mentioned in the text as you seek God early.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the full benefits of seeking You early as I seek You early with the whole of my heart Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 19-21

QUOTE: At the place of prayer, man is enabled to see his life from the perspective of God. Culled from “PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: A baby has around 30,000 taste buds. They are not just on the tongue but also on the sides, back, and roof of the mouth. Adults have about 10,000

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: As you seek Him early, may your generation seek you in all realms in Jesus Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Dealing With Distractions

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 15 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Dealing With Distractions

TOPIC: Dealing With Distractions (DCLM Daily Manna 15 May 2022)

TEXT: Luke 11:14-28 (KJV)

14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.

15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.

20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:

22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.

24 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.

25 And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.

26 Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

KEY VERSE: “But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils. And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven” (Luke 11:15, 16).

MESSAGE:

Someone says, “Doubt comes in varying degrees. There is the doubt of the proud sceptic, who delights in his own intellect. He pits himself against God as if he is a match for the Almighty. He delights in upsetting the faith of weak believers. He sets forth his arguments against God’s existence or the Christian faith. The Bible dismisses such scoffers with the word, ‘The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.”

In our passage, the devil had kept a creature of God dumb from birth. But Jesus rebuked the spirit of dumbness and the man began to speak. Instead of his neighbours to rejoice with him and spread the good news, they confronted Jesus with the unreasonable question of the source of His power. Some of them wanted a sign from heaven to be convinced that He really worked the miracle through the supernatural power of God. But Jesus understood their pranks, thus, He began to open their eyes through the Scriptures. There are still agents of distractions today. They make you believe that you cannot and do not have what it takes to succeed. They make your challenges look insurmountable. Such negative voice makes you doubt the ability and authenticity of God’s word. Except you ignore the voices, you will not make any headway. Speak back to that voice today, that in Christ Jesus you are a conqueror and that as He conquered, you will conquer.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Consider the greatness of your God always and victory will be yours.

“I Feel Hurt And Angry” – Gospel Singer, Buchi Reacts To Murder Of Christian Student Lynched To Death In Sokoto

Gospel Singer, Buchi

Gospel music minister, Buchi has publicly expressed his grief over the recent viral report of a Christian female student beaten and burnt to death over blasphemy in Sokoto state.

In a lengthy post on his official social media page via Instagram, Buchi expressed his sadness over the death of the female student, says he’s hurt and angry. He wrote:

“That’s the girl they stoned to death That’s Deborah She only asked that religious content be kept away from the class platform. Their god demanded her life for it, so they said. Where are my Muslim friends? Where are my Christian friends? Why is nobody shouting? CHRISTIANS’ LIVES MATTER! ALL LIVES MATTER! But it doesn’t seem to matter here. That’s why a presidential aspirant who should need my vote can boldly declare that he did not condemn the murder of this christian girl. And he still asks for my vote. He knows that if I don’t give him my vote, other christians who don’t care about Deborah Yakubu will give him theirs. They’re the ones who say that religion doesn’t matter in politics. Just because they want the onions and garlic from the north. Why are they able to hurt us, humiliate us and walk away? Why are the voices speaking for Christ so weak? They know that we don’t really care about Deborah, Leah, Eunice Olawale who was beheaded IN ABUJA for preaching the gospel on the street (morning cry)…and countless others. Where’s the girl that was kidnapped from the streets of Bayelsa, who was later found pregnant in an emir’s palace? It is sickening. I feel hurt and angry. Do we belong here as Christians? Is there space for us here? If this truly is our space, why can’t we fight for it? Fear torments! If Jesus died for us, what’s wrong with dying for Him?”

CAN Reacts To Death Of Christian Student In Sokoto, Says ‘Killers Must Be Brought To Book’

CAN Reacts To Death Of Christian Student In Sokoto, Says 'Killers Must Be Brought To Book'

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has reacted to the news of a Christian Student that was beaten and burnt to death in Sokoto state over alleged blasphemy.

The Association condemned the act in a press statement released by Joseph Bade Daramola, Esq, CAN’s General Secretary that reads: “DEBORAH’S KILLERS MUST BE BROUGHT TO BOOK“.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) condemns in strong terms the gruesome murder of a Christian, 200 Level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education,  Sokoto, Deborah Samuel by some extremist fellow students on alleged blasphemy

The unlawful and dastardly action of the perpetrators must not only be condemned by all right thinking people but the security operatives must fish them out, prosecute them as it is expected of them. It is the failure of the security agencies and the government to rise up to such criminalities in the past that gave birth to terrorists and bandits. And as long as the State fails to bring these beasts and criminals amidst us to book, so also the society will continue to be their killing fields

We acknowledge the swift reaction of His Eminence, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar 111 who not only condemned the criminal and religious intolerant action but called on the security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice. It is our expectation that the State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, would ensure that the matter is not swept under the carpet, as it was before“.

We also call on all teachers and preachers of religious intolerance, extremism and terrorism to repent before the wrath of God descends on them if the State failed to bring them to book. They are agents of death amidst us

We recall the provocative and demeaning advertisement of the Sterling Bank where the bank compared the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to “Agege bread”, up till now, nobody was attacked and even the CAN leadership has accepted the apology tendered by its Chief Executive, Abubakar Suleiman. Killing for any God in the name of blasphemy is ungodly, satanic, foolish, reprehensible and totally unacceptable. This is not a Stone Age and Nigeria is not a Banana Republic. Nigeria remains a non-religious State where no religion is supreme to the other“.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Mountain Of His Presence

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 14 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: The Mountain Of His Presence

TOPIC: The Mountain Of His Presence (Seeds Of Destiny 14 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. Exodus 3:2-3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You don’t know your potentials until you are established in His presence.

 MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture reveals the encounter that Moses had when he went to the Mountain of God. The Mountain of God’s Presence is the Mountain of encounters.

It is important to note that when we come before God at the place of prayer, we have come to the mountain of His presence.

Today, we shall be looking at some of the things that happen when we come to the mountain of His presence.

  1. The mountain of God’s Presence is the place of passion and fire (Exodus 3:2).
The bush burned. There is nowhere that is critical for the renewal of spiritual passion and fire like the Presence of God.
  2. The mountain of God’s Presence is the place of God’s voice of direction.
It is the place where life’s purpose or direction is clarified (Exodus 3:7-10)
  3. The mountain of God’s Presence is the place for the realisation of potentials and possibilities.
You don’t know your potentials until you are established in His Presence. Moses had a rod in his hand, whose purpose and potentials he never knew until he was found in the mountain of God’s Presence (Exodus 4:3).

Now, to benefit from this mountain, you must do two things:

  1. Decide to approach the mountain of His Presence deliberately (Exodus 3:1).
  2. Turn aside (Exodus 3:3). Turn your back on every single thing that constitutes a distraction, and be focused. When God saw that Moses turned aside, He spoke to him.

Beloved, when approaching the mountain of His Presence, turn your back on everything that is a distraction; let God’s Presence be your focus, and you will experience drastic Divine encounters.

Remember this: You don’t know your potentials until you are established in His Presence.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Go through the text again.
  2. Ask God for the grace to remain addicted to His Presence.
  3. Determine to spend quality time in God’s Presence.

PRAYER: Lord, I love You. Nothing else matters. Help me know You more. Bring out the best in me as I dwell in Your Presence, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Great Confidence

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 14 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Great Confidence

TOPIC: Great Confidence (DCLM Daily Manna 14 May 2022)

TEXT: Job 23:1-17 (KJV)

1 Then Job answered and said,

2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

KEY VERSE: “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” – (Job 23:10)

MESSAGE:

A story is told of Queen Victoria (Alexandria Victoria), the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from June 20, 1837 and the first Empress of India of the British Raj from May 1, 1876 until her death. She was said to have requested the hymn “Rock of Ages cleft for me; let me hide myself in Thee” to be sung for her as she was about to die.

She might have been perceived as a sinner while she carried out her official duties; but on her deathbed, she told those around her that she loved God and was confident in the face of death.

Similarly, Job, despite the deluge of allegations by his friends concerning his relationship with God, knew perfectly well that the Rock of Ages had been his anchor and that He never allowed his feet to slip to evil. He was confident of his obedience to the word of the Lord, which had always guided him. Little wonder he declared, “Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips…” (Verse 12).

Beyond the perception of his friends about his true spiritual state and the reason for his affliction, Job was convinced about his robust relationship with God. He chose to lean on Him rather than join issues with his friends.
In the same way, once you have a good relationship with God, your confidence will remain unshakable, irrespective of what others say or think of you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Opinions of others should not define your identity and destiny.

Speaking about her latest single release, Debra said she continues to enjoy personal encounters and has witnessed miracles performed in the name of Jesus and so, testifying to salvation in the precious name of JESUS. The name of  “Jesus” is powerful and answers to every situation. Moreover, God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the mention of the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those in heaven, those on earth and those under the earth and that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father, according to the scripture (Philippians 2:9-10).

Expanding on this prophetic gospel, she said demons are subject to us in The Name of JESUS! (Luke 10:17).

She said the good news is that salvation is free and whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).

Debra went further to say that our Lord and Savior Jesus Saves Us, Sanctifies Us, and Justifies Us! Call On The Name Of Jesus! 1 Corinthians 6:11.

Lyrics:  The Fourth Man By Mr. M & Revelation Ft. Peterson Okopi

You’re the fourth man in the furnace
You are he who walked on waters
Oh lord my god your name be praised
King king
(igwe, igwe)
Oh lord my god your name be praised

You’re the fourth man in the furnace
You’re he who walked on my waters
Oh lord my god
Your name be praised

You are the fourth man in my furnace
And that furnace became an air conditioner
Oh lord my god your name is praised
King king
(igwe, igwe)
Oh lord my god your name be praised

You walk on the sea
God of the host of heavens
Oh lord my god your name be praised

You divided the sea
And the waters stood side by side
The god of all flesh that’s who i call you
You swallowed what swallowed the elephant
And has the lion in his mouth
He who smashed thorns
The good god who does good
Your name is king
King king
He who fetched water with a basket
With our hands lifted up
We declare that you are king
Oh lord my god your name be praised

The great storm
He who fetched water with a basket
Your name be praised
The animal shot and is still eating
Your name be praised
The great storm
The great storm the wind obeys
Your name be praised
We hail your name
God of all creation
We hail your name
Beautiful for all situation
We hail your name
Our joy giver
Our peace in the midst of the storm
We hail your name
Where will i begin to praise you
From start or finish
There’s a word you put in my mouth
Words of gratitude
Words of thanksgiving
Words of appreciation

Oh lord my god your name be praised

The god that gives a new song
And the right way to sing it.

When they gather against me you reveal to me
It’s so wonderful to know
That my concern is your concern
It gives me joy
I give you all the praise
Oh lord my god your name be praised

“Stoke those flames and get on fire for God to win souls. Get on fire for God to get that scholarship, to achieve greatness. Get on fire for God to remain in Holiness… Holy Fire burn me till I do! May your Joy never end as you burn for God… Amen.” – Fait Favour

[Video] Name Above All Names – Jonathan Kome

Name Above All Names - Jonathan Kome

Worship music minister, Jonathan Kome is out with a brand new sound titled “Names Above All Names”.

Speaking on his new song, Kome explains that ‘Name Above All Names’ is more than a song but also a declaration of the one true God who reigns forever.

He is still the Great One of Ages past and still the same God of today. Here is a song  brought to the world as a reminder of the price He paid for us all to rule over the ideologies, patterns and principles of darkness being brought to the world at the time we find ourselves in.Telegram

It is clear that the world has tried so hard to prove Him false but we know that nothing can contend with the sovereignty of our God. My prayer is that as we listen and worship with this song, we remember the victory we have in and through Him alone because truly it is in Him we were made more than conquerors.

“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” [Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV]

Jonathan Chidiebere Ugorji, simply known as Jonathan  Kome is a full time worship minister, singer and composer. He is a man truly passionate about worship and devoted to the things of God. His worship style opens up the heavens to lead them into their fullness in God.

TREM Devotional – Increase Your Capacity

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

Wisdom For The Day Devotional 13 May 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Increase Your Capacity

TOPIC: Increase Your Capacity (TREM Devotional 13 May 2022)

“Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.”.” 2 Kings 4:3 (KJV)

MESSAGE:

We can no longer afford to do small things. Look around you, the rest of the world is making giant strides and taking territories. So why would believers, the ones who have the dominion mandate, do any less? Time has come and that time is now for us to arise. God intends for us to be at the forefront of the different sectors in our society. But if you cannot receive the mighty things that God has released, then even though that is God’s will for you, your capacity will place a cap on His supply.

We are all very familiar with our text. The widow found herself in a terrible situation. Not only was she mourning her husband, who was a prophet, a child of God, committed and devoted; her husband left bad debt for the family. And now the creditors had come to take her two sons as slaves, as payment for the debt. She ran to meet the Prophet Elisha. He asked her what she had in the house, and she told him nothing except a small flask of oil. We then see in verse 3. Prophet Elisha instructs her to go and borrow vessels. And if you read carefully, he said, “…borrow not a few”. Did you see that? In other words, don’t borrow one, two, five vessels, but borrow as many as you can lay your hands on. So, if they are 200, then borrow them all because your capacity determines the extent of the supply.

Child of God, you serve an Unlimited God. There is no limit to His supply. So why are you coming to Him with a little vessel? You don’t go to fetch water from an ocean with a bottle! Elisha’s instructed the widow to lock herself in and pour oil into the vessels she borrowed. And just as he said, she was able to fill up all the vessels till there was no more vessel. And then the oil, “stayed”. Another translation says the oil stopped flowing. You must note that the oil didn’t stop flowing, because the oil was finished, but because there were no more vessels to fill.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Revealed To Be Reversed

Paul Enenche

Dunamis Seeds Of Destiny 13 May 2022 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche: Revealed To Be Reversed

TOPIC: Revealed To Be Reversed (Seeds Of Destiny 13 May 2022)

SCRIPTURE: This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 1 Timothy 1:18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Revelation or direction fuels warfare unto victory.

MESSAGE:

Sometime ago, a young man testified in one of our services of how he saw himself inside a coffin in the dream of the night. When he woke up the next day, he prayed while listening to one of the songs I was privileged to receive and record, titled, ‘You are Always There’. Thereafter, he went to a woman’s shop to buy something that morning, and the woman said, ‘I’m not selling to you! Go to another shop and buy. Go!’ He was surprised and disappointed at her reaction.

He went to another shop to buy what he needed. And within a few minutes, a trailer ran into the woman’s shop and everyone in the shop was crushed to death. You see, death was coming for him. The same death he saw in the coffin in the night would have happened, but God revealed it, cancelled it, and preserved his life.

Beloved, Divine direction or revelation fuels intercession unto preservation. Revelation or direction fuels warfare unto victory. That is, God would reveal things to you that would move you to pray and have victory. And whenever you see something in the dream that does not look positive, it does not mean it must come to pass; God is only showing you what the enemy is planning to do. Every negative revelation is subject to either being accepted or being ejected. You can accept it if you do nothing about it, and you can eject it by warring it out in prayer.

Beloved, I prophesy to you today, every negative revelation about you, about your family, or around your life and destiny, orchestrated by the enemy, is reversed and nullified in Jesus Name.

Remember this: Revelation or direction fuels warfare unto victory.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Reject whatever you see or hear that is not in line with the Word of God concerning your life.
  2. Through prayer and Word declaration, reverse every evil dream and establish the good ones immediately you wake up.
  3. Ask God to reveal and terminate every satanic mystery around your life and destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You reveal and reverse every plan of the enemy against my life, family and destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 13-15

QUOTE: When your life is surrendered at the altar of prayer, then your steps can be ordered by God. Culled from “PRINCIPLES AND POWER OF PRAYER” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: A grasshopper’s ears are found not on its head, but rather, on its belly.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Every hidden plan and plot of the enemy regarding your life is hereby aborted in Jesus Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Speak Out!

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 13 May 2022 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Speak Out!

TOPIC: Speak Out! (DCLM Daily Manna 13 May 2022)

TEXT: Luke 12:1-12 (KJV)

1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

KEY VERSE: “In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” – (Luke 12:1)

MESSAGE:

Those who are mightily used of God do not declare their convictions in secret. They make an open show of their belief and damn the consequences! For instance, when Martin Luther was brought before the Diet of Worms, he refused to take back his teachings and was declared a heretic by the emperor. It was at that gathering that he declared; “here I stand, I can do no other,” and then concluded with “God help me.”

In our text, our Lord Jesus addressed His disciples openly, warning and encouraging them on how to go about their ministry. Although He knew that there were some Pharisees in the gathering who must have come to find fault, Jesus openly told His disciples, “Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees”. He identified the leaven as the insincere religiosity of the Pharisees. He spoke openly, condemning the hypocrisy that had become the norm among them.

This should challenge us as believers not to become silent and allow evil to thrive before us. Jesus did not care what the Pharisees could do to Him. Even though He knew they would eventually kill Him, He never massaged their ego. Like Christ, we should learn to speak against evil openly, regardless of the consequences.

We must be the true sons and daughters of our Father. As Jesus represented His Father so well while on earth, we must not do less because we are the true representatives of Christ today.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Never keep mute in the face of opposition.
