CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional | Tuesday, November 2, 2021 | Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

Topic: Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

Date: Tuesday, November 2, 2021 – International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists

Read: Philippians 4:8-9

Philippians 4:8-9  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

MEMORISE:

Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the Truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true (3 John 12)

EXPOSITION

Character, like a smoke, cannot be hidden for long. Whatever you are will soon be revealed to others, whether you like it or not. As long as the light of salvation dwells within you, everyone who comes in contact with you will see the light. It is possible for that light to be dull, if the believer is not careful enough to shine the light of Christ.

Good report is to be spoken well of by God and others. It is achievable when someone lives the life of Christ, inside and outside. When what you are on the inside is what you are on the outside with respect to Christ and Christlikeness, that is called good report. It is synonymous with integrity. It is good report when the good life you possess in the church is what you carry into the world, as you go about your daily activities, in the sporting arena, place of Work, market, business place, or school.

Any Christian who lives in contrast to his profession as Christian and engages in wilful sinning, to the extent of even mingling with darkness and the world has a questionable salvation. Such a person cannot be said to be of good report, and will do everything to hinder the report of his or her bad deed. This has necessitated the commemoration of International Day to End impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. Timothy described good report as one of the qualifications that a true church leader should possess (1 Tim. 3:17). Of course, in an earlier situation, the Apostle in Acts 6 had stated good report as one of the qualifications to be considered in selecting anyone to be among the seven prospective deacons. That underscores how important this virtue is to God, and what it should be to His people.

What are the people saying about you? Demetrius was well spoken of by everyone, and the truth Himself had good testimony about him. Like Demetrius, every Christian must live  lives worthy of emulation, and more importantly, must desire to win souls for the Kingdom of Christ through good and godly character.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Help me, Lord, to form Christly character.

2. Lord, deliver me from hypocritical lifestyle that makes people behave the opposite of what they really are.

3. Lord, help our leaders to prioritise good report and testimony appointing people to places and positions of ministry, leadership, and responsibilities.

TREM Devotional – Learn To Rest In Him

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 2 November 2021 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Learn To Rest In Him

TOPIC: Learn To Rest In Him

“But those of us who trust God do enjoy his special place of rest…” Hebrews 4:3 (EASY)

Beloved, it is no longer news that there is so much anxiety, uncertainty, and difficulty in our world today. But Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that despite the challenges, we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Therefore, we can confidently expect all things, both the good and bad to work out for our good. Jesus has deprived this world of the power to harm you. He has conquered the world for you and I, and this is why you can rest in Him.

The entire book of Hebrews chapter 4 reveals that God has prepared a place of rest for His children. God never intended for His children to suffer and struggle, but to overcome in every area of life. However, in order to get into this rest, we must believe that God is who He says He is and that He is faithful to His Word. The issue of believing is one that a lot of people struggle with because according to the world, ‘seeing is believing’ but in the kingdom of God, ‘believing is seeing.’

I was meditating over this issue of trust, and it occurred to me that we most likely do not understand the integrity of who is at stake here. We are talking about the God of the entire universe, the Alpha and the Omega. If we can truly understand who this God is and His integrity, it will be easier for us to trust. This is why we must continue to pursue intimacy with God so that we can understand who He is and learn to trust Him.

Child of God, in the midst of the chaos, there is a place of rest for you. But you must trust Him. Remember that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Once He says it, then it is done. Your mouth will surely testify of the goodness of God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Truth That Makes Free

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 2 November 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche — The Truth That Makes Free

TOPIC: The Truth That Makes Free

It is not head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life; it is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

SCRIPTURE: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life; it is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

The Word of God is designed to change your life and that of your generation. The Bible is not meant to be a book for decoration. It is a Book that is meant to cause total transformation of life and destiny.

However, many people carry the Bible without being positively affected by it.

The question is: why is it that the Word of God has not produced much result in the lives of many people?

The answer is in John 8:32 which says,

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You see, some people misquote this Scripture by saying, “The truth shall set you free.” No. That is not what the Bible says.

The Bible says, “You shall know the truth and the truth that you know shall make you free.” Please take note of the word “Know”. The truth may not make you free if you don’t know it. It is the truth you know that makes you free. It is the truth that you have interacted with or experienced that makes you free.

Beloved, it is not head knowledge of the Word of God that changes life. It is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life. It is the truth that you have encountered or experienced that makes you free.

There are people who quote a particular Scripture in the face of turbulent situations and get the needed Divine intervention. But others may quote the same Scripture in the same situation and not see the same result. This is because the latter may not have known or interacted with the truth of the Word.

Beloved, determine to press for the revelation of the Word to experience a total transformation of your life.

Remember this: It is not the head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life. It is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to have just a head knowledge of the Scripture.
  2. Press for the revelation of the Word for the transformation of your life by the help of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the revelation of Your Word. Open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: ACCESSING AND PROFITING FROM THE WORD (PART 2)

QUOTE: The truth of the Word is the shield of man. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: John 13-15

REFLECTION: The teacher is only ready when the student is ready. The Teacher, the Holy Spirit is ready to uncover depths in the Word. The question is, are you ready?

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Lord cause you to see what you haven’t seen out of the Word in this season in Jesus Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Our Evangelism At His Charge

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 2 November 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Our Evangelism At His Charge

TOPIC: Our Evangelism At His Charge

TEXT: Luke 9:1-9 (KJV)

1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

KEY VERSE: “And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.” – (Luke 9:6)

MESSAGE:

No soldier goes to the warfront to fight for his fatherland bearing the expenses of his battle gear and other needs. He is supplied all that is necessary for protection and victory before he departs. During hostilities with the enemy, he is constantly assured of the support of the state. The president of his country and top military chiefs visit the warring soldiers to remind them they have the moral backing of the whole land.

God does far more for His children when He releases us for the work of the great commission. Seeing that preaching is a bigger battle than physical warfare, the Lord kits us with both physical and spiritual abilities. In the physical wars, only raw power rests with the soldiers at the battlefield. Authority resides back home with the headquarters. But our Lord vests all “power and authority” in our hands as we go to wrest souls from the devil for Him.

Thus armed, we can go fearlessly “through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” We are invincible as we face all the hosts of hell and their earthly agents. They become “perplexed” as they see and hear of the exploits of miracles of healing and multitudes of sinners forsaking the world and turning to a new Master. While they wonder, we behold the excitement in heaven for new names entering the Book of Life in addition to our own.

We have great joy here in the world as we honour the Lord in fulfilling the great commission. But unspeakable joy awaits us in heaven when we shall see the millions of souls the Lord has employed us to lead into the Kingdom through our prayers, time and money we have set aside for media evangelism, crusades and missionary trips and to support the weak and the persecuted.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Heaven backs the believer as he evangelises day and night.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Unity In Diversity

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional | Monday, November 1, 2021 | Unity In Diversity

Topic: Unity In Diversity

Date: Monday, November 1, 2021

Read:  1 Corinthians 12:12-31

MEMORISE: Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually (1 Corinthians 12:27)

EXPOSITION

One of the lethal instruments the devil has ever used to attack the Church is disunity. Thank God the early Church quickly nipped something similar in the bud before it blossomed (Acts 6:1ff). The body of Christ, though has many parts, ought to be unity, and that is why he causes divisions and contradictions among Christ’s believers.

We are to be actively involved in building bridges, and not walls. Bridges link one separate side of the road to the other for mutually beneficial purposes. Conversely, walls are partitions that serve as blockage to having contact with others. Satan is assiduously in the business of employing disunity against us. He strives to blow away the bridges that connect God’s people.

What unites, not what separates believers should be what we dwell on. As the body contains different parts, so does the body of Christ contain different members and ministries. Yet, Christ is the Head of all. How can the members of the same body continue to work against themselves? Because you serve in a capacity you think is very unique, doesn’t mean that others serving in other capacities are less important. If we are going to be finally united with our Lord and King in Heaven, we had better cultivated true unity right from here and now.

It is in unity that we can successfully fight Satan to stand still. The unity of the early Christians really helped them to spread the Gospel. It is being united in spirit that made Deacon Philip to send to Peter and other leaders that people in Samaria had accepted the Gospel. Shelve your ego, and let the heavenly goal be your watchword. Endeavour (put every effort, try with all strength) to keep the unity of the Church (Eph. 4:1ff). May we be united as Christ demands. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS

1. I refuse to be an agent of disunity in the body of Christ, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, help the Church to cease from working against herself.

3. Lord, help believers to concentrate more on what binds us together in Christ than our differences.

TREM Devotional – Trust In The Lord

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 1 November 2021 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Trust In The Lord

TOPIC: Trust In The Lord

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8 (KJV)

Beloved, more than ever before, I believe that we need to get back to the foundations of our faith- to know and understand 9what it truly means to trust God and hope in Him. This is very important because of the situations confronting us in our time. Most people are filled with anxiety and confusion, without knowing where to turn or what would happen next. But in the midst of all these, do you trust God? Is God your hope?

Now don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. Trusting in God does not mean that you will be docile and do nothing. It does not mean praying without taking any action; none of that will lead to experiencing God’s blessings. Trusting God means that you rely totally on God to direct every move you make and every decision you take. It means that after you have prayed and received a blueprint from God, you implement it. Solomon captured it in the best way possible in Proverbs 3:6: “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths” (KJV). As humans, we are limited in our understanding. And so we must always connect to God’s omniscience to flourish and remain at the top.

Part of the blessings that you enjoy when you put your trust in the Lord is that you will “…not be careful in the year of drought…” This simply means that even in austere conditions, you will not be anxious. While others are complaining and saying there is a casting down, you will continue celebrating great results and achievements. How else do you think Isaac was able to reap a hundred-fold harvest in the time of famine? He trusted in God and he was not disappointed!

DCLM Daily Manna – Go Beyond Hearing

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 1 November 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Go Beyond Hearing

TOPIC: Go Beyond Hearing

TEXT: Exodus 24:1-11

1 And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.

2 And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.

4 And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the Lord.

6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

KEY VERSE: “And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.” – (Exodus 24:7)

MESSAGE:

In His characteristic way of driving home His teaching, our Lord relates the story of two men and their father who wanted them to work in his vineyard. He asked the first son to proceed to the field for the job. After telling his father earlier that he would not go, he repented and went. The second son appeared to have gladdened the old man’s heart when he initially said he would go to the field. But eventually he did not.

Nearly one thousand five hundred years before the time of our Lord Jesus Christ, a similar test came upon the children of Israel as they regained freedom from Egyptian captivity and headed for the Promised Land. Moses received the law of God that the people are required to know while relating with Him and to one another. They needed these instructions to guide them in staying away from sin. It represented a covenant that would separate them from their old ways. The Israelites repeatedly said they would obey the laws of God.

The challenge is not only to read the word of God or to say you accept the law and will abide by it. It is also not to tell your pastor that you will do according to all the commandments of the Lord. It goes beyond heeding the altar call after the evangelist’s message. We pass the test only at the point where we are doers of the Word.

To please the Lord, we must go beyond the levels of hearing and reading His Word. The commandments are given to be obeyed, principally. The born-again child of God feeds and grows on the totality of the word of God. He must hear, read and above all, obey it indiscriminately. Obedience to the Word is proof that we are true children of God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The Lord honours true portrayers of His word, not mere professors.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Praise And The Power For Increase

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 1 November 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche — Praise And The Power For Increase

TOPIC: Praise And The Power For Increase

Praise is a secret of increase in life.

SCRIPTURE: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. Psalm 67:5-7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Praise is a secret of increase in life.

You are welcome to the month of November 2021. This November is very significant to us as we shall be marking our 25th Anniversary as a Commission. The Lord has been faithful to us in multi-faceted dimensions in these twenty-five years. We give Him all the praise.

On this first day of the month of November 2021, we shall consider the subject of praise to show our appreciation to God for His faithfulness in our lives and in the Ministry for the past twenty-five years.

The subject of praise has been confirmed to be of critical importance to children of God. Praise is very important to life and destiny. If a person’s life must be profitable on earth, praise must not be ignored. There is power in praise.

One critical power of praise is that praise is key to accessing God and His Presence. God dwells in the life of a person who praises Him. God lives in or inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). This means, one who praises God is building a habitation or house for God to dwell in.

Praise also brings increase. Praise is pregnant with the power for increase. Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that praise is a secret of increase in life. When people praise God, the earth yields her increase.

If there is anything in your life as a Christian that seems not to increase, praise is a key to its increase. For example, if you are an anointed servant of God and you are trusting God for a greater dimension of the anointing, praise is a key to that increase.

In any area of your life that you desire increase, praise is your pathway. The grace, fire, revelation, insight and favour of God on your life will increase when you understand and implement the principle of praise and worship.

Remember this: Praise is a secret of increase in life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to praise God always.
  2. Allow nothing to keep you down.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You clothe me with the garment of praise. Help me to praise You at all times, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: UNDERSTANDING PRAISE AND WORSHIP.

QUOTE: To live a life of praise and worship is to access Divine preservation. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: John 10-12

REFLECTION: The major purpose of man’s existence is the praise and worship of God. It is wasteful existence to function without praise.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Receive the release of the garment of praise in this season in Jesus’ Name.

Your blood has bought our freedom
From sin, death, hell and darkness
It gave us life eternal

We are healed, delivered

Through the blood of the lamb
That was slain
