DCLM Daily Manna – Reward For Unbending Spirit

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 4 November 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Reward For Unbending Spirit

TOPIC: Reward For Unbending Spirit

TEXT: Numbers 14:11-25

11 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

12 I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

13 And Moses said unto the Lord, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;)

14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,

16 Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,

18 The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.

20 And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word:

21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.

22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

25 (Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea.

KEY VERSE: “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.” – (Numbers 14:24)

MESSAGE:

An elderly minister was noted for a favourite verse in the Old Testament each time he preached about the believer’s race to heaven. He would read from Genesis 12:5: “And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother’s son, and all their substance that they had gathered…and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came”. His message was always that Christians must be like Abraham who set out for Canaan and got there, not elsewhere.

Just as Abraham reached where God appointed for him without losing focus or turning aside, Caleb had that unbending spirit that would strive for a goal and make it to that destination without deviating. When the Israelites complained about the giants in the land the Lord had given them, Caleb had “another spirit” that chose to believe that with the Almighty on their side, they would easily access the territory for their possession, in spite of any giant.

The unbelieving stance of the children of Israel as they neared the Promised Land brought swift divine judgment that made them unqualified for Canaan, the place they set out for from Egypt. They toiled hard for forty years in the wilderness. But alas; it was a wasted effort. On the other hand, the simple faith of Caleb that touched the Lord, earned him entry into the land despite the contrary circumstances that prevailed.

To make heaven, the believer must be armed with a spirit completely dead to what the world offers. We must resist powerful currents that blow on the sidelines of the narrow way as the age witnesses an explosion in seducing religions, philosophies with scientific and technological inventions. We should not allow their tidal waves to drown us and thus, deny us our place in heaven after our long and profitable walk with the Lord.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Resist the three ‘Ds’ on the way to heaven: Despair, distractions and defilement.

Lyrics: In Your Courts By David Nkennor Ft. Dera Richards

Verse 1:
I’ve found a home, I’ve found a place
And I’ve discovered a resting place
Oh how my soul is satisfied
Right here, in Your Courts oh Lord

Verse 2:
Here on this Altar, I have found rest
And like a sparrow, I’ve found a nest
Oh what a joy it is to dwell
Right here, in Your Courts oh Lord

Chorus:
May this Altar be our dwelling
Fill our hunger and our thirsting
We receive Your grace and glory
Standing right here in Your Courts

Verse 3:
For a day, here in Your Courts
Is better than a thousand more
For what You give, I’d rather be
Right here, in Your Courts oh Lord

Coda:
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house
For they will still be praising you

We choose to live right here
We choose to be right here
We choose to stay right here
We choose to dwell right here

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – You Don’t Belong Here

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional | Wednesday, November 3, 2021 | You Don’t Belong Here

Topic: You Don’t Belong Here

Date: Wednesday, November 3, 2021

Read:  1 John 2:15-17

1 John 2:15-17  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

MEMORISE:

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2)

EXPOSITION

God made man a tripartite being that comprises spirit, soul and body. Man worships with his spirit. This spirit is the only part of man that connects to God who Himself is Spirit, and those who would worship Him must do so in the spirit. The soul (mind) is the part that triggers our emotions, both conscious and subconscious. It defines man’s personality, self-awareness, rationality, and natural feeling. The body is the physical part of man, and the carrier of the former two.

The gracious God furnishes man with these parts for our meaningful living. The body envelopes the mind and spirit, while the mind has the tendency to control the body and spirit. This is because man’s mind-set determines his life setting. What controls your mind controls your life. For this reason, every believer is charged to set their mind on things above, not on earthly ones. Setting your mind on the earthly things makes you lose focus on your glorious upward calling. Everything that is of the world (money, position, power, certificates, titles) is here on earth, is temporal and fades away with time. You will lose your focus as a believer when you are mindful of the world more than of heavenliness. Christ Jesus succeeded in His earthly ministry because He only focused on the heavenly things, and never confused Himself with materialism and carnality.

You are not of the world (cf. Phil. 3:20). You are just given the grace to pass through this world in preparation for eternity. Don’t lose your focus on Christ. You are created by God to serve His purposes here before returning to Him (Eph. 2:10). The Lord is calling you today: ‘Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth’ (Col. 3:2). Only then are you sure of living with Christ, eternally.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, help me to be fully mindful of heavenly things.

2. Lord Jesus, purge me of every manifestation of worldliness, and help my love for You to wax stronger by the day.

3. Pray against every form of worldliness subtly creeping into churches in terms of worship, service and members’ quality of lives.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Acceptable Service To God

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 3 November 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche — The Acceptable Service To God

TOPIC: The Acceptable Service To God

Serving God in depression is not only a waste of service but also an attraction of problems.

SCRIPTURE: Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. Deuteronomy 28:47-48.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Serving God in depression is not only a waste of service but also an attraction of problems.

The Scripture makes it clear that we are created by God for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11), and we are created to show forth His praise.

Isaiah 43:21 says,

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

Now, service is one way to show forth the praise of God. As believers, we have been created and redeemed by God to serve Him.

How then do we serve God? What is the acceptable form of service to God?

  1. Service to God must be done joyfully.

Service to God must be done joyfully to be acceptable by God.

Our anchor Scripture, Deuteronomy 28:47-48, makes it clear that if we don’t serve God with the whole of our heart, we will serve our enemies. And these enemies are hunger, thirst, nakedness, and bondage. God forbid!

Serving God in depression is not only a waste of service but also an attraction of problems. To serve in depression is both to waste the service and attract problems to your life.

So, it is better not to serve at all than to be serving God in sadness.

  1. Service to God must be done fervently and passionately.

Romans 12:11 says,

Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit serving the Lord.

Serve God with fire. Serve God with enthusiasm, optimism, and positivism. Let people catch fire when they come near you. Sing with fire. Give counsel with fire. Usher people in church with fire. Pray with fire.

My counsel is, refuse to be a lukewarm Christian. The approved frequency for Kingdom service is the frequency of fire.

Remember this: Serving God in depression is not only a waste of service but also an attraction of problems.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to serve God joyfully. Refuse to serve God in depression.
  2. Be fervent in spirit in anything you do for God.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the acceptable way of serving You. I receive the grace to serve You joyfully and passionately, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE COVENANT OF SERVICE (PT 1)

QUOTE: God spares those who serve Him. He spares them from calamity. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: John 16-18

REFLECTION: God is the Consuming Fire. To walk with God, you must function at the frequency of fire because two cannot walk together except they be agreed.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Your service in the Kingdom shall cause God to spare you from the traps and agenda of the enemy in this season in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities

DCLM Daily Manna – In His Footsteps

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 3 November 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — In His Footsteps

TOPIC: In His Footsteps

TEXT: Acts 9:32-35

32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

KEY VERSE: “And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.” – (Acts 9:32)

MESSAGE:

It is gratifying to note in today’s text that when the Lord concluded His work here in the world and went to heaven, He did not take away His virtues of fellowship and visitation. He deposited them in great measure with His disciples. His followers walked in His footsteps, showing love to the brethren by abandoning their comfort zones to visit them in their abodes.

As Apostle Peter left Jerusalem to check up on the brethren, he pleaded Jesus’ name to heal a man who had been bedridden for eight years. The miracle brought “all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron…to the Lord.” This demonstrated the limitless power and blessings inherent in visiting one another as believers.

The love of Christ for His own did not stop at the point of His crucifixion; He showed Himself to the disciples after His resurrection, treated and admonished them most lovingly. Likewise, the apostles continued in His footsteps as they showed love to other brethren by visiting them and performing signs and wonders. The exit of the likes of Peter and the other apostles of the early church did not take away the power that followed them each time they toured the homes of members of the body of Christ. Also, the Lord did not annul the supernatural power in His name when He went back to His home. The disciples made maximum use of His name.

It is our turn in this end time to stand on the platform Peter and other believers stood to bring believing souls in large numbers to our Lord. That platform is visitation. God is challenging us to renew our love for the brethren by visiting each other for spiritual and material edification.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Reach out and release God’s power.

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional – Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional

CAC Living Water Daily Devotional | Tuesday, November 2, 2021 | Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

Topic: Whatsoever Things Are Of Good Report

Date: Tuesday, November 2, 2021 – International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists

Read: Philippians 4:8-9

Philippians 4:8-9  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

MEMORISE:

Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the Truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true (3 John 12)

EXPOSITION

Character, like a smoke, cannot be hidden for long. Whatever you are will soon be revealed to others, whether you like it or not. As long as the light of salvation dwells within you, everyone who comes in contact with you will see the light. It is possible for that light to be dull, if the believer is not careful enough to shine the light of Christ.

Good report is to be spoken well of by God and others. It is achievable when someone lives the life of Christ, inside and outside. When what you are on the inside is what you are on the outside with respect to Christ and Christlikeness, that is called good report. It is synonymous with integrity. It is good report when the good life you possess in the church is what you carry into the world, as you go about your daily activities, in the sporting arena, place of Work, market, business place, or school.

Any Christian who lives in contrast to his profession as Christian and engages in wilful sinning, to the extent of even mingling with darkness and the world has a questionable salvation. Such a person cannot be said to be of good report, and will do everything to hinder the report of his or her bad deed. This has necessitated the commemoration of International Day to End impunity for Crimes Against Journalists. Timothy described good report as one of the qualifications that a true church leader should possess (1 Tim. 3:17). Of course, in an earlier situation, the Apostle in Acts 6 had stated good report as one of the qualifications to be considered in selecting anyone to be among the seven prospective deacons. That underscores how important this virtue is to God, and what it should be to His people.

What are the people saying about you? Demetrius was well spoken of by everyone, and the truth Himself had good testimony about him. Like Demetrius, every Christian must live  lives worthy of emulation, and more importantly, must desire to win souls for the Kingdom of Christ through good and godly character.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Help me, Lord, to form Christly character.

2. Lord, deliver me from hypocritical lifestyle that makes people behave the opposite of what they really are.

3. Lord, help our leaders to prioritise good report and testimony appointing people to places and positions of ministry, leadership, and responsibilities.

TREM Devotional – Learn To Rest In Him

Dr. Mike Okonkwo TREM

TREM Devotional 2 November 2021 Daily Devotional By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Learn To Rest In Him

TOPIC: Learn To Rest In Him

“But those of us who trust God do enjoy his special place of rest…” Hebrews 4:3 (EASY)

Beloved, it is no longer news that there is so much anxiety, uncertainty, and difficulty in our world today. But Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that despite the challenges, we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. Therefore, we can confidently expect all things, both the good and bad to work out for our good. Jesus has deprived this world of the power to harm you. He has conquered the world for you and I, and this is why you can rest in Him.

The entire book of Hebrews chapter 4 reveals that God has prepared a place of rest for His children. God never intended for His children to suffer and struggle, but to overcome in every area of life. However, in order to get into this rest, we must believe that God is who He says He is and that He is faithful to His Word. The issue of believing is one that a lot of people struggle with because according to the world, ‘seeing is believing’ but in the kingdom of God, ‘believing is seeing.’

I was meditating over this issue of trust, and it occurred to me that we most likely do not understand the integrity of who is at stake here. We are talking about the God of the entire universe, the Alpha and the Omega. If we can truly understand who this God is and His integrity, it will be easier for us to trust. This is why we must continue to pursue intimacy with God so that we can understand who He is and learn to trust Him.

Child of God, in the midst of the chaos, there is a place of rest for you. But you must trust Him. Remember that God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Once He says it, then it is done. Your mouth will surely testify of the goodness of God.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – The Truth That Makes Free

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 2 November 2021 Devotional By Dr. Paul Enenche — The Truth That Makes Free

TOPIC: The Truth That Makes Free

It is not head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life; it is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

SCRIPTURE: And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is not head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life; it is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

The Word of God is designed to change your life and that of your generation. The Bible is not meant to be a book for decoration. It is a Book that is meant to cause total transformation of life and destiny.

However, many people carry the Bible without being positively affected by it.

The question is: why is it that the Word of God has not produced much result in the lives of many people?

The answer is in John 8:32 which says,

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You see, some people misquote this Scripture by saying, “The truth shall set you free.” No. That is not what the Bible says.

The Bible says, “You shall know the truth and the truth that you know shall make you free.” Please take note of the word “Know”. The truth may not make you free if you don’t know it. It is the truth you know that makes you free. It is the truth that you have interacted with or experienced that makes you free.

Beloved, it is not head knowledge of the Word of God that changes life. It is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life. It is the truth that you have encountered or experienced that makes you free.

There are people who quote a particular Scripture in the face of turbulent situations and get the needed Divine intervention. But others may quote the same Scripture in the same situation and not see the same result. This is because the latter may not have known or interacted with the truth of the Word.

Beloved, determine to press for the revelation of the Word to experience a total transformation of your life.

Remember this: It is not the head knowledge of God’s Word that changes life. It is the experiential knowledge of the Word of God that changes life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to have just a head knowledge of the Scripture.
  2. Press for the revelation of the Word for the transformation of your life by the help of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the revelation of Your Word. Open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: The truth of the Word is the shield of man. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: John 13-15

REFLECTION: The teacher is only ready when the student is ready. The Teacher, the Holy Spirit is ready to uncover depths in the Word. The question is, are you ready?

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Lord cause you to see what you haven’t seen out of the Word in this season in Jesus Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Our Evangelism At His Charge

Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 2 November 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Our Evangelism At His Charge

TOPIC: Our Evangelism At His Charge

TEXT: Luke 9:1-9 (KJV)

1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.

5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;

8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

KEY VERSE: “And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.” – (Luke 9:6)

MESSAGE:

No soldier goes to the warfront to fight for his fatherland bearing the expenses of his battle gear and other needs. He is supplied all that is necessary for protection and victory before he departs. During hostilities with the enemy, he is constantly assured of the support of the state. The president of his country and top military chiefs visit the warring soldiers to remind them they have the moral backing of the whole land.

God does far more for His children when He releases us for the work of the great commission. Seeing that preaching is a bigger battle than physical warfare, the Lord kits us with both physical and spiritual abilities. In the physical wars, only raw power rests with the soldiers at the battlefield. Authority resides back home with the headquarters. But our Lord vests all “power and authority” in our hands as we go to wrest souls from the devil for Him.

Thus armed, we can go fearlessly “through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” We are invincible as we face all the hosts of hell and their earthly agents. They become “perplexed” as they see and hear of the exploits of miracles of healing and multitudes of sinners forsaking the world and turning to a new Master. While they wonder, we behold the excitement in heaven for new names entering the Book of Life in addition to our own.

We have great joy here in the world as we honour the Lord in fulfilling the great commission. But unspeakable joy awaits us in heaven when we shall see the millions of souls the Lord has employed us to lead into the Kingdom through our prayers, time and money we have set aside for media evangelism, crusades and missionary trips and to support the weak and the persecuted.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Heaven backs the believer as he evangelises day and night.
