Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Character Supersedes Charisma

Pastor Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 18 February 2021 Devotional By Pastor Paul Enenche – Character Supersedes Charisma

Topic: Character Supersedes Charisma

Charisma and capacity may take you up but it is character that keeps you up.

SCRIPTURE: Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. John 14:30.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Charisma and capacity may take you up but it is character that keeps you up.

Previously, we saw that character is key to destiny fulfilment. Character is the bedrock of destiny.

Today, I will like to give you two key thoughts on character:

i. Character sustains destiny

Destiny cannot be in place where character is out of place. That is why whenever the devil wants to attack your destiny, he first attacks your character. No wonder, the future of a talkative person, gossipmonger, backbiter, murderer, thief or liar is at stake because their character is out of place (Acts 1:16-19). Destiny is indeed sustained by character.

ii. Character is superior to both charisma and capacity

Your charisma implies how vibrant, gifted and attractive you are while your capacity reflects how much you have developed yourself in terms of the skills you have acquired.

Now, charisma and capacity may bring promotion but it is character that sustains the promotion (Prov. 18:16). Charisma and capacity may take you up but it is character that keeps you up.

There are people with first class certificates who have third class character, and so they can’t keep a job. They can’t work with people, and people cannot work with them.

There are intelligent people who are stranded in life due to character bankruptcy. I know a man like that who was stranded in life for many years. Anywhere he is employed, he would begin to drink alcohol and insult people including his boss.

There are people whose tongues have closed their destiny doors. When God tries to open their destiny doors and assist them, one unguarded utterance closes the door.

Beloved, your character will open doors your certificates cannot open. Your character will open doors your connection cannot open for you.

My counsel is: maintain a positive character so you can fulfil destiny.

Remember this: Charisma and capacity may take you up but it is character that keeps you up.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Pay attention to your character; your destiny is in it.
  2. Receive grace to guard against negative character.

PRAYER: O Lord, deliver me from any lifestyle that will affect my destiny negatively. Help me to maintain quality character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: FORCES OF DESTINY (PART 2).

QUOTE: When anyone tells you to accept a bribe, you will tell them that it is contrary to the laws of your country. Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Judges 9-12.

AMAZING FACT: A lion can hear the sound of a prey up to a mile away.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Help to be all Jehovah wants you to be is released on you in Jesus’ Name.

Today’s devotional was written by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors. It is a power-packed arena where God’s Presence, Principles and Power are at work for the salvation, healing and restoration of human destinies and dignities.

DCLM Daily Manna – Advancing Through Adversity

DCLM Daily Manna , Pastor William Kumuyi, DCLM Daily Manna, Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Kumuyi

DCLM Daily Manna 18 February 2021 Devotional By Pastor W. F Kumuyi – Advancing Through Adversity

Topic: Advancing Through Adversity

Text: Exodus 5:15-23 (KJV)

15 Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants?

16 There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.

17 But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.

18 Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks.

19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they were in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.

20 And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh:

21 And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.

22 And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?

23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

Key Verse: “Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks” (Exodus 5:18).

MESSAGE:

“Every cloud has a silver lining” is an age-long saying. Unknown to most oppressors, great things usually emerge during crises and adversities, and at such times, the best of man often easily becomes obvious. One thing was not clear to both the oppressors and the oppressed, and that is, those undergoing oppression should have the right attitude. What if God, in His wisdom, permitted the oppressors in order to strengthen the Israelites for the wilderness journey?

The “cloud” over the children of Israel at this time, as in the text, was the hard task they were to endure under the leadership of a new Pharaoh who neither knew Joseph nor reckoned with his great achievements in Egypt. Their task became harder after Moses informed Pharaoh of their intention to go and sacrifice to God in the wilderness. Pharaoh considered the request to be borne of idleness and instructed the taskmasters to stop giving them straws required for the daily tale of bricks.

Believers must be patient in adversity while reflecting on God’s past faithfulness. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. At such time, you should hold on to the Lord because He has power to turn all adversity to triumph. The secret of advancement in adversity is to hold on to your faith in God and refuse to commit sin. Job upheld his faith and integrity before God while he went through adversity in spite of his friends’ wrong assumption and accusation of him being unrighteous. He prayed for his enemies instead and God turned around his captivity.

We must be careful how we interpret our current experiences of hardship, lack, sickness, ill-treatment and victimisation. Remember, “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Through adversity comes advancement.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 5-6

[Video] The Lord Reigns - Nike Daniel

Sweden based gospel artiste Nike Daniel made her official music debut in 2020 with “The Lord Reigns”. This time, she takes it bigger and higher with the release of the visuals for the song.

“Picturing some accounts of His mighty works as recorded in the scriptures helps one fear and worship God more. Scientists have an explanation to why most things are so but not to all things. They research for a very long time. They experiment before arriving at their conclusion of why something is how it is but some research is inconclusive because The Lord Reigns!

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145:3

Which designer put together the beautiful designs and colour combinations on butterflies, birds, zebras and many other creatures? What is the name of the architect that drew the plan of the high mountains with wide space inside it that can accommodate several buildings without stress? He is too powerful and beautiful beyond description!

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
1 Chronicles 16:31 KJV”

[Music + Video] Greatest Lord – Sinach

Sinach, Writer of “Way Maker,” Releases “Greatest Lord”

Greatest Lord - Sinach

International worship leader and recording Artist, Sinach releases a new sound titled “Greatest Lord”.

Greatest Lord is a declaration of God’s sovereignty and Lordship over all situations and circumstances the world is currently going through.

We are in unprecedented times; literally living in Bible days right now, and Greatest Lord is a worship project to help Christians all over the world recognize Jesus as the solution to today’s hurting world.

Just like when King Jehoshaphat in the Bible was faced with an obviously insurmountable enemy, God’s strategy to him was to put singers in front to lead Israel in worship:

21)Then Jehoshaphat consulted with the people and appointed those who would sing to the LORD and praise the splendor of His holiness. As they went out before the army, they were singing: “Give thanks to the LORD, for His loving devotion endures forever.” 22)The moment they began their shouts and praises, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who had come against Judah, and they were defeated. 2 Chronicles 20:21 – 22

The Bible rightly says;

“Lord, you are great and worthy of the highest praise! For there is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds you.” Psalms 145:3 TPT

We must never forget the greatness of our Lord! On the different tracks you will be inspired to worship and declare the word of God in praise, worship and faith proclamations!

Sinach, whose full name is Osinachi Kalu Okoro, is the songwriter to over 200 songs, most recently to the world-renowned worship anthem “Way Maker.”

Israel Houghton And New Breed To Release Live Album “Feels Like Home”

Feels Like Home

After months of experimenting with a remote quarantine setup, Dove and GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter, producer and worship leader Israel Houghton is bringing the at-home intimacy of his Worship Wednesday sessions and the electricity of a live Israel and New Breed recording to listeners with Feels Like Home: The Quarantine Worship Experience, available globally February 26.

Recorded live, the 14-track Feels Like Home will be available to stream and to purchase in digital, CD and vinyl formats with a pre-order and instant-grat track available immediately.

The Feels Like Home project blossomed out of Houghton’s idea in early 2020 to remotely stream worship services, the impetus behind what would become his “Worship Wednesdays,” after seeing an opportunity to explore and reinvent group worship dynamics online throughout the pandemic.

The Israel and New Breed ensemble of vocalists and musicians streamed Feels Like Home live from Houghton’s sister-in-law’s New York home in November after each member agreed to quarantine and test for COVID-19 prior to the gathering. Deftly led by Houghton alongside his wife, Adrienne, the ensemble performed while seated “in the round,” creating a warm improvisatory looseness reminiscent of Gospel music’s roots as a communal religious celebration and experience. This includes new single “Hymn of Breakthrough,” a brightly burning, slow-building epiphany of the “sound of breakthrough” as it echoes throughout the ensemble.

“New Breed celebrated our 20th year together in 2020,” says Houghton. “And although the entire landscape changed with how we do concerts and touring, we knew it was still important to come together. I’m grateful for the sacrifices made by everyone on our team to carefully gather and participate in this offering. Truth be told, it’s one of the most rewarding worship experiences I’ve ever been a part of.”

Since the release of his first studio album in 1997, Houghton has pioneered a sound of worship that combines a variety of music styles and reflects the diversity of the Kingdom of God as well as his own multicultural upbringing.

His storied career as a solo artist and the frontman for Israel and New Breed includes six GRAMMY Awards, 16 Dove Awards and a discography of bestselling albums including New SeasonLive From Another LevelA Deeper Level, Alive in South Africa, Covered: Alive In Asia, Real, The Power of One and Love God/Love People.
