Dunamis Daily Devotional – The Tragedy Of Idleness

Topic: The Tragedy Of Idleness [Friday March 2, 2018]

Scripture: By much slothfulness the building decayeth and through idleness of the hands the house dropeth through. Ecclesiastes 10:18.

Thought For The Day: Dynamism in life is necessary for the vitality of life; an active life is a healthy life.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that by much slothfulness, a house or building decays. It is important to know that the body of a child of God is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). So, as a child of God, you are God’s building; you are a mobile temple of God.

Now, as God’s temple, slothfulness of life makes your physical body decay; idleness of hands makes your mortal body drop through. This means, anytime you are slothful, something decays in your life; anytime you are idle, something around you drops through. This is so because life is designed by God to be dynamic, active, energetic, lively, forceful and enthusiastic. A person’s life is designed to have momentum. Dynamism in life is necessary for the vitality of life; an active life is a healthy life. A life that is not dynamic rapidly degenerates, deteriorates or dilapidates. When life is not dynamic, it becomes problematic. It takes liveliness to live. Enthusiasm is key to energy. A person who is not lively or energetic exits life with time.

Beloved, my counsel is, engage your life in the worship of God and the service of His purpose on earth.

Remember this: Dynamism in life is necessary for the vitality of life; an active life is a healthy life.
