C.A.C Daily Devotional – Marriage Is Partnership

The Living Water -  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

The Living Water –  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2020 – United Nations Day

Topic: Marriage Is Partnership

Read: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

[9]Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
[10]For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
[11]Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
[12]And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

MEMORISE: And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him” (Genesis 2:18)

EXPOSITION
Marriage is not a contract issued by one person and signed by the other to take responsibilities of certain duties for the well-being of the family and society. Rather, marriage is a union of companionship between two compatible, agreeing spouses – a man and a woman, to build and live together, sharing responsibilities between each other. It is an unbreakable covenant that is signed and sealed by God and hosts of other witnesses. It is meant to be kept and maintained with love, respect, submission, care, kindness and understanding. What is the perspective of marriage over there in your area? The Bible’s perspective has to be regarded as supreme as far as marriage is concerned.

Mostly, what we experience today is that both spouses try as much as possible to be contributors, and that is how it should be. The wife must contribute financially to meet the financial need of the home while the husband is saddled with the responsibility of providing for the home. He is the breadwinner and major financial provider. The husband should not conclude that the wife should handle the house chores (cooking, picking the kids, washing, and laundry, etc.) alone while he sits in front of the TV, or reads newspapers. Marriage is a productive partnership, we should stick to the fact that Two are better off than one because together they can work more effectively (Eccl. 4:9 GNT).

Men are encouraged to be involved at home, rather than delegating; be an active partner. It takes two parents to raise a child. It takes two to make a marriage work. Be part of the kitchen, laundry and other house chores. Don’t be a visiting professor; be the V.C. Your wife is your helpmeet and not your staff; your husband is your captain and not your boss. So, work as team-mates and build successfully. Consider the homes that produced Moses (Ex. 2:1ff), and John the Baptist (Lk. 1:5,6,58-80). Today is United Nations Day, and unity of homes is worth discussing. May the Creator (God) of marriage help us. Amen.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, make me a productive and supportive helper to my spouse.
2. Lord, make our home a true light of the Christian home.
3. Lord, open the eyes of our ministers to build their homes.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – Disregard For Authority

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds Of Destiny 24 October 2020 Devotional by Pastor Paul Enenche – Disregard For Authority

Topic: Disregard For Authority

The spirit of rebellion is the doorway to irrelevance in time and in eternity.

SCRIPTURE: God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalm 68:6.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The spirit of rebellion is the doorway to irrelevance in time and in eternity.

Having disregard for authority is a deadly enemy of destiny. Disregard for authority, especially spiritual authority, destroys lives and destinies. That was what happened to Lot. When Lot came to a point where he had no regard for Abraham who was the spiritual authority over his life, his destiny began to degenerate.

Now, I will like you to take note of the following key thoughts on disregard for authority:

a. Whosoever disregards authority sacrifices destiny (Example, Lot in Gen. 19:29-30)

Whenever people decide that no one can talk to them, they sacrifice their destiny.

b. He who cannot be called to order must end with a destiny of disorder (Example, Lot in Gen. 19:36).

Anyone who cannot be called to order must end their life and destiny in disorder.

c. The spirit of rebellion is the doorway to irrelevance on earth and in eternity (Psalm 68:6).

The rebellious would always dwell in a dry land. (Psalm 68:6).

d. The crave for independence is the grave of destiny (Example, Lot in Gen. 19:26).

The crave for independence, the crave to be on your own and do it your own way is the grave of destiny. When a person feels he cannot be instructed because he can read and understand the Bible, he is digging the grave of his destiny.

Beloved, determine never to rebel against God and constituted authority.

Remember this: The spirit of rebellion is the doorway to irrelevance on earth and in eternity.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Reject every manifestation of the spirit of rebellion.
  2. Respect and regard the authority over your life.
  3. Come under spiritual authority and be obedient to spiritual authority.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the dangers of rebellion. I reject and curse the spirit of rebellion out of my life. I receive Your grace to come under You, and be obedient to spiritual authority, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: And when you lose grip of your humility, you lose grip of your authority. Culled from “21 FOOLISH THINGS PEOPLE DO” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: More than half of all pigs in the world are kept by farmers in China. There are over 440 million pigs in China. United States in comparison has a mere 73 million pigs.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Your destiny shall not be ruined by the spell of rebellion in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Insincerity

DCLM Daily Manna

Topic: Insincerity [DCLM Daily Manna 24 October 2020 Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: 2 Chronicles 25:1-10 (KJV)

1 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoiada of Jerusalem.

2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.

3 Now it came to pass, when the kingdom was established to him, that he slew his servants that had killed the king his father.

4 But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

5 Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and made them captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, according to the houses of their fathers, throughout all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and above, and found them three hundred thousand choice men, able to go forth to war, that could handle spear and shield.

6 He hired also an hundred thousand mighty men of valour out of Israel for an hundred talents of silver.

7 But there came a man of God to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with thee; for the LORD is not with Israel, to wit, with all the children of Ephraim.

8 But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

9 And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

10 Then Amaziah separated them, to wit, the army that was come to him out of Ephraim, to go home again: wherefore their anger was greatly kindled against Judah, and they returned home in great anger.

Key Verse: “And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart.” – (2 Chronicles 25:2)

MESSAGE:

During the scramble for the control of Africa at the end of the 19th century by imperialist European rulers, Belgium’s King Leopold II left arguably the largest and most horrid legacy of all. While the great powers competed for territory elsewhere, the king of one of Europe’s smallest countries carved his own private colony out of 100 square kilometre of Central African rainforest. He claimed he was doing it to “protect” the natives from Arab slavers, and to open the heart of Africa to “Christian missionaries” and Western capitalists, but ended up taking their lands and enslaving the people.

King Amaziah in our text was said to have done that which was right in the sight of the Lord but not with a perfect heart. While revenging the death of his father, he declined killing the children of the murderers claiming he was obeying God’s commands not to kill those not directly involved in a crime. He equally obeyed the prophet, when he was told to dismiss the soldiers he hired from Israel. But later showed his true colours by introducing strange gods into the land, and oppressing the people.

Like King Leopold II and Amaziah in our text, many so-called believers have through their actions brought shame to Christianity in their communities and neighbourhoods. They would initially show much love and appear outwardly to be saints, only to defraud, deceive, and destroy those who fall victims to their sweet promises.

Our claim to Christianity and righteousness should not end by mere words of mouth; it should be backed up by a corresponding action of truth and sincerity.

Thought For The Day: True Christianity is not lip service.

C.A.C Daily Devotional – Exhausted, But Still In Pursuit

The Living Water -  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

The Living Water –  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

Date: Thursday, October 22, 2020

Topic: Exhausted, But Still In Pursuit

Read: Judges 7:1-7

Judges 7:1-7 Early in the morning, Jerub-Baal (that is, Gideon) and all his men camped at the spring of Harod. The camp of Midian was north of them in the valley near the hill of Moreh.

The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’

Now announce to the army, ‘Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.’” So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained.

But the Lord said to Gideon, “There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say, ‘This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say, ‘This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues as a dog laps from those who kneel down to drink.”

Three hundred of them drank from cupped hands, lapping like dogs. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.

The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.”

MEMORISE:

Gideon and his three hundred men, exhausted yet keeping up the pursuit, came to the Jordan and crossed it. (Judges 8:4).

EXPOSITION

Time of adversity can reveal who you really are, what kind of character you have developed as a Christian in the Christian warfare. The life of Gideon and his small-sized army in today’s passage, especially the phrase in the memory scripture “exhausted but still in pursuit” is a great lesson to us as soldiers of the Cross. How can an army of just three hundred even ventured to face the army of Zebah and Zelmunna who were about fifteen thousand (Judges 8:10); but for their absolute faith in the promise of God. Then He said to Gideon “By three hundred men… I will save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand” (Judges 7:7)

Permit me to quote what was said by a historian of a celebrated Cameronian regiment– “They prayed as they fought, and fought as they prayed; they might be Slain, never conquered; they were ready whenever their duty or their religion called them, with undaunted spirit and with great vivacity of mind, to encounter hardships, attempt great enterprises, despise dangers, and bravely rush to death or victory.” Many people are faint who would not have been, if they would only accept the invitation of their Heavenly Father, and cast all their anxiety upon Him. For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7). CAC Gospel Hymn 825 says: Christ our mighty Captain leads against the foe, we will never falter, when He bids us go; though His righteous purpose we may never know, yet we’ll follow all the way.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to remain faithful to You in time’s of adversity.

2. Holy Spirit, empower me with power never to falter; when You bid me to follow You.

3. The grace for all Christians, especially, those in the troubled areas of the world to follow You all the way under cloudy situations, grant them in Jesus name.

Seeds Of Destiny Devotional – A Distraction Of Destiny

Paul Enenche

Dunamis’ Seeds of Destiny 22 October 2020 Devotional By Pastor Paul Enenche: Loss Of Focus – A Distraction Of Destiny

Topic: Loss Of Focus – A Distraction Of Destiny

Whenever you agree to strive with someone, your focus is taken off where you are going in life.

SCRIPTURE: And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. Genesis 26:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whenever you agree to strive with someone, your focus is taken off where you are going in life.

It has been established that focus is distracted where strife is established. Whenever you agree to strive with someone, your focus is taken away from where you are going in life.

You know, where there is no focus, disaster is inevitable. Can you imagine a driver driving on high speed looking at another driver who is also driving on high speed? An accident is inevitable!

I give you one illustration: In October 1988, while I was travelling to Benue state, Nigeria, with other passengers on board, we had a terrible accident. The driver of the vehicle I boarded overtook another driver who was also on top speed. Both drivers were overtaking each other until the two vehicles came to a bend and could not overtake each other again and an accident happened. That was a practical manifestation of “mumulity” (foolishness). When the overtaking became dangerous and the accident occurred, I felt my head touch the ground. Finally, I saw myself sitting on the ground and my bag was beside me. The way God delivered me from death in that accident was unbelievable. Many deaths occurred as a result of the accident. What a disaster!

This is what happens when people take their focus off where they are going in life. Disaster is inevitable when people lose their focus and engage in competition with others.

Today, I counsel you not to lose your focus. Face God and He will take you to your destiny.

Remember this: Whenever you agree to strive with someone, your focus is taken off where you are going in life.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Refuse to fall into the temptation of competition, strife and rivalry.
  2. Do not let another person and his/her work be your focus for life.
  3. Look straight; be focused on God and His purpose for Your life.

PRAYER: O Lord, I refuse to make another person my focus in life. Help me never to look away from You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: You cannot kill a man today who sees tomorrow. You cannot bury him in the immediate, if he is focused on the ultimate. Culled from, “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: Giraffes are the tallest land animal in the world, reaching heights of 19ft (5.8m). The ostrich is the world’s tallest bird. It can grow up to 9 feet (2.7m) tall. Over 2 metres (7ft) of a giraffes total size is its famously long neck, which helps it reach leaves in tall trees.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Grace to maintain focus be released upon you in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna – Covenant Breakers

DCLM Daily Manna

Topic: Covenant Breakers [DCLM Daily Manna 22 October 2020 Devotional By Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: 2 Chronicles 24:15-22 (KJV)

15 But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.

16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.

17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.

18 And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.

21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the LORD.

22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.

Key Verse: “Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the LORD; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.” – (2 Chronicles 24:19)

MESSAGE:

Among the settlers of the American West in the Nineteenth Century, there was an unwritten and unspoken code: You must keep your word, no matter your challenges. So a man in September 1879 made a 1300-mile trek to pay a debt of $300 he had borrowed the previous year in another state. The lender did not expect him to take the trip just to settle the loan because of a severe winter that set in unexpectedly. His friends tried to stop him. But he said he had promised to pay and he must keep to his word. He did in snow and storm.

As genuine followers of the Lord, we must not break the promise we made to the Lord and people as did Judah after the death of Jehoiada, the faithful priest God used to deliver them from the wickedness of a queen and gave them the seed of David as king. In (2 Chronicles 23:16), they made a solemn pact with Jehoiada to be “the Lord’s people.” But alas, they broke their word and returned to idol worship.

They also grieved the Lord by killing His servant Zechariah, the son of Jehoiada, whom He sent to warn them against their apostasy. In a backslidden state, a person becomes blind and deaf to entreaties, no longer recognising his Creator, His prophets or their benefactors. He is also not moved to keep his covenant which he made voluntarily to the Lord. He is unaware he is on the threshold of destruction if he does not repent and return to the Lord.

The greatest evidence of a redeemed life is our faithfulness to the Lord and our fellowmen. We are to honour our promise to serve God all our life after He has saved us from sin. We are to pursue a lifetime of holiness and obedience to His standards in the presence or absence of our leaders, brethren or family members. This is the only way to show gratitude to the Lord.

Thought For The Day: Honouring God’s word helps you to honour your own word.

Yeshua – Christian Anderson

Yeshua - Christian Anderson

Worship Leader Christian Anderson is a rising star in the world of Gospel music. A singer, songwriter and composer as well, in the past three years alone, she’s shared the stage with Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kim Burrell, Anthony Brown & Group Therapy, Jonathan Nelson, Zacardi Cortez and John P. Kee.

She’s appeared in Kurt Carr’s live recording “Bless This House” and has served as one of the lead vocalists for the Alabama Gospel Choir’s European Tour. Now, this Greensboro, North Carolina-based artist is carving out her own niche with her sweet vocals and beautiful spirit to match. As a follow-up to her 2018 release, “Lift Your Name”, Christian delivers another powerful track with the release of “Yeshua”.

Yeshua”, a Hebrew derivative of the name of Jesus Christ, means “deliver”, “rescuer” or “Savior”. A heart-melting, string-filled ballad, “Yeshua”, is a captivating worship anthem directed to the Lord. Soon to be a favorite with worship teams everywhere, the song, penned by Glen Usry, showcases Christian’s uncanny ability to usher listeners into the presence of God. Worshippers will also be inspired by calling on the name of Jesus. “I believe we need to call on the name of Jesus more than we do,” the vocalist says. “There is so much in the name of Jesus. During this very difficult season, we need the power that only comes from calling on the precious name of Jesus.”

In addition to the release of the new single, Christian has also released a concept music video for “Yeshua”. Directed by Tomeka Allen of I Inspire Productions with Videographer/Cinematographer Jermaine Studwell of Jaysnaps Media behind the camera, “Yeshua” was brought to life with a unique and inspiring creativity. An actress who has appeared in a number of church plays as well as Langston Hughes’ famed musical, “Black Nativity”, Christian is excited about the dramatic element in the new music video and believes the presentation will touch believers.

Since singing at the age of four, Christian’s goal has always been to touch others with the gift of music. Her start in music began as a toddler when she would encourage the other toddlers to sing along with her. As she grew, musical opportunities continued to open up for her. Hide Me [Worship Medley] – Shalom Obosa

Hide Me [Worship Medley] - Shalom Obosa

Music Minister ‘Shalom Obosa‘ breaks the silence with the release of a medley titled ‘Hide Me‘.

The live acoustic worship session is a blend of two songs. Hide Me which was written and composed by her and Spirit of Victory by Jephthan Idahosa. The song which is simple and concise is a declaration of submissiveness to Jesus Christ.

“Hide Me is a song solely inspired by the Holy Ghost. The song was birthed while I was in a rehearsal. It came as a reflection of Psalm 91 (He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.) which reminded me of Gods unending love, guidance and protection towards mankind despite our lapses. I believe for a move of God and for lives to be exposed to peace and salvation through this song”Shalom Obosa

The session was recorded at Magic Five Studio where it was mixed and mastered by Dr Sirme. The Visuals was shot by Galleria Films.

C.A.C Daily Devotional – Giving Up Personal Vengeance

The Living Water -  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

The Living Water –  Christ Apostolic Church Daily Devotional Guide

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Topic: Giving Up Personal Vengeance

Read Romans 12:14-19

[14]Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

[15]Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

[16]Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

[17]Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

[18]If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

[19]Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

MEMORISE: But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also (Matthew 5:39)

EXPOSITION

The memory scripture for our Living Water dose this morning is a very popular verse of the Bible that is usually misquoted, both by believers and unbelievers. However, Paul, in Romans 12:17 gave us the real meaning of “turn the other cheek” Repay no none evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. This is following the path of our Lord Jesus, Who left us an example that we should follow in His steps. “When he was reviled, He reviled not again. When He suffered, He threatened not.” Commentator Matthew Henry wrote, “…for it is the second blow that makes the quarrel.”

Violence builds upon itself. Evil for evil is self-perpetuating. Jesus is not telling us to be doormats or passive objects of abuse. Instead, we are called to a new standard: giving up personal vengeance.

The true meaning of turn the other cheek therefore is:

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves – Ye are the children of God, and He loves you; and because He loves you, He will permit nothing to be done to you that He will not turn to your advantage. Never take the execution of the law into your own hands; rather suffer injuries. The Son of man has come, not to destroy men’s lives, but to save; be of the same spirit. When he was reviled, he reviled not again. It is the part of a noble mind to bear up under unmerited disgrace; little minds are litigious and quarrelsome.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to have that same Spirit in You of giving up personal vengeance in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord Jesus, give me that noble mind to bear up under unmerited disgrace in Jesus’ name.

3. Let us pray for all Christians facing one persecution or the other, that God should give them the grace to always remember that “Vengeance is of the Lord’s and that He will surely repay”.
